Dorota Gasienica-Kozak, a partner in the firm and chair of the practice section, focuses her practice in the areas of Family Law and Estate Planning.
Mrs. Kozak earned dual degrees from DeSales University (formerly Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales) in Politics and Criminal Justice and graduated magna cum laude in 1997. She was a member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society, a Dean's List student, and the Outstanding Service Award winner for politics in 1997. In 2000, Mrs. Kozak graduated from Temple University's James E. Beasley School of Law, where she made significant contributions first as staff editor and then as executive editor of the Environmental Law and Technology Journal. In 1999, she was honored with the Outstanding Trial Advocate Award. Mrs. Kozak is also the author of "AIDS Treatment and Medical Technology: The Supreme Court Abandons the CDC," published in the Temple Environmental Law and Technology Journal in 2000.
Mrs. Kozak was admitted to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 2000. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and she is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, the Carbon County Bar Association, the Northampton County Bar Association, the Lehigh County Bar Association and is an active member of the Family Law Section of Northampton County Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Mrs. Kozak is President of the Women's Business Council, a mission council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Chamber's Board of Governors and the board's Nominating Committee. Mrs. Kozak serves on the Board of Directors for Pinebrook Family Services, an agency that promotes the well-being and self-sufficiency of children and families and strengthens communities through prevention, intervention, and advocacy. Pinebrook Services provides services involving foster care, host home treatment, adoption, individualized family education, in-home respite care, behavioral health services, and family-based mental health services, and Mrs. Kozak serves on their Personnel Practices and Event Planning committees. Mrs. Kozak is a member of the DeSales University President's Council, as well as the Auxiliary of St. Luke's Hospital where she serves on the committee for the Centennial Ball.
A graduate of the Leadership Lehigh Valley program, Mrs. Kozak is a member of the board and the Administrative/Financial Committee chair. She is also a graduate of the Pocono Mountain Chamber of Commerce Leadership Pocono program and a former president and an active member of the Pocono Mountain Chamber of Commerce Women in Business; served as a board member and chair of the marketing section for the Pocono Services for Families and Children; served as co-chair for the Monroe County United Way Day of Caring; and was the recipient of the United Way Division Service Award for her service toward Special Initiatives.
Mrs. Kozak is also a regular contributor of articles on various family law topics and often speaks in support of her board activities. |
