Erin D. Gilsbach joined the Education Law Practice Group in 2005. Ms. Gilsbach assists school districts in both general education matters, such as creating district policies, and consulting with school officials on various issues, such as student discipline, employment, charter schools, teacher certification, and No Child Left Behind. She has particular experience in the areas of teacher certification, decertification, teacher tenure and special education. Ms. Gilsbach practices extensively in the field of Special Education Law, consulting on individual cases and litigating due process hearings.

Prior to joining KingSpry, Ms. Gilsbach served for two years as legal intern at the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Office of Chief Counsel. In that capacity, she assisted with a variety of cases, such as the Reading School District's challenge to PDE's enforcement of the No Child Left Behind Act, mandate waivers, and the initial implementation of Act 72. She also handled a significant number of teacher decertification and teacher tenure cases at the Department level, advocating on behalf of PDE before both administrative panels and the Commonwealth Court.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Gilsbach served as a public high school English teacher for three years. Ms. Gilsbach designed the 12th grade curriculum in her high school and served as a liaison between PDE and her school district, linking district curriculum with PA State Standards. During that time, she was also head coach of the speech and debate team and she assisted with the theater program.

Ms. Gilsbach received her B.A. in English with a minor in Secondary Education from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. While teaching high school English, she pursued a Masters in Education degree from Pennsylvania State University. She received her Juris Doctorate from Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law in 2005. While in law school, she was a member of the Trial Moot Court Board and the recipient of several awards, including the Jurisprudence Award; the Law, Science & Policy Award; and the CALI Award for distinction in Law, Science, and Policy seminar. During law school, Ms. Gilsbach served as a Legal Research Assistant to Intellectual Property Law Professor Eileen Kane.

Ms. Gilsbach is a member of the Northampton County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
