Estate planning in today's world includes "traditional" wills and powers of attorney, federal estate tax and generation-skipping tax planning; planning for senior citizens with Medicaid-related questions; and asset protection planning. As a consequence of the constantly changing Internal Revenue Code, and the impact of the Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax on all estates, professionals in the Trust and Estate Practice Group are constantly challenged to maintain a high level of professional competence in the understanding, counseling, drafting, and implementation of appropriate plans to meet both the goals of the client and minimization of tax impact.

The attorneys in the Trust and Estate Practice Group take pride in handling some of the largest estate planning and estate and trust administration matters in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. Recognized throughout the Commonwealth, attorneys in the Trust and Estate Practice Group are frequent contributors to continuing education programs for the Pennsylvania Bar, Estate Planning Councils, and related organizations.

The complexities of a trust and estate practice extend beyond will drafting and the probating of estates. A trust and estate lawyer is frequently called upon to address various issues relating to real estate, securities, banking transactions, contract law, etc., as those areas impact upon their clients.

Unfortunately, the administration of estates and trusts sometimes results in litigation. The Trust and Estate Practice Group is experienced in Orphans' Court litigation. Our members have appeared on behalf of clients in Orphans' Courts throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, and have frequently lectured to other lawyers throughout the Commonwealth.
