Kent H. Herman is the Managing Partner and a co-founder of KingSpry. He has served on the firm's Executive Committee since the firm's founding in 2001.
Mr. Herman has over 30 years experience across a broad range of municipal, real estate, affordable housing and litigation matters including leading public, non-profit and private development teams in the development, construction, syndication, and financing of over forty housing projects. He regularly advises housing authorities and affordable housing developers in general legal and regulatory matters. He has negotiated a master developer agreement under a Hope VI grant for a housing authority client, and provides counsel with regard to compliance and contracting under the Hope VI program. During his career, Mr. Herman has litigated hundreds of matters before juries in State and Federal Courts. He has arbitrated and/or mediated complex construction, employment and insurance disputes resulting in favorable results for both plaintiffs and defendants.
Mr. Herman graduated from Lafayette College with a B.A. in Government and Law in 1971. He graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 1974 with a Juris Doctorate degree. After his graduation, Mr. Herman served a year as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Richard D. Grifo of the Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County.
Admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1974, Mr. Herman is a member of the Bar Association of Lehigh County, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Litigation Section and Forum on Affordable Housing of the American Bar Association and is also a member of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute.
Over the years, Mr. Herman has engaged in a variety of community activities. He has served as a Township Commisioner for Salisbury Township. He is currently a member of the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission and he serves on the parish council of St. Thomas More Church in Allentown. |
