KingSpry Of Counsel Dr. Kathleen Conn, Ph.D., J.D., LL.M, will present a session on “Student Suicide” for the 2015 Education Law Conference, November 4-7 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Part of the Education Policy and Administration theme, her talk details how student suicide rates have increased more than 50% in the past 30 years, not only among adolescents, but across the education spectrum, K-20. This presentation will explore the complex issues in suicide awareness and prevention, and review the judicial responses to parents who seek to hold educational institutions legally liable for failing to prevent their child’s suicide.
