On May 19, Volunteer Challenge projects will be on display at a special event at Coca Cola Park, including KingSpry’s boxing event to “Knock Out Pain.” Click here to vote for our project.
Team KingSpry volunteers at many community events throughout the year, so when we heard about the Volunteer Center’s 2015 Volunteer Challenge which pairs business resources with non-profit needs, the search was on to find a knockout idea.
When Family Law paralegal Sarah O’Steen told the firm she was planning an event in support of her dad who has a painful condition called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), everyone naturally wanted to help, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to throw our hats in the ring.
KingSpry attorneys, employees, family and friends signed up to take one of two boxing fitness classes at Title Boxing Club on March 14, 2015. Proceeds from the event went to RSDSA to help raise awareness and fight RSD. Firm members also volunteered to register participants, help spread the word about the event, and many people donated water, snacks and funds. By the end of the day, Team KingSpry raised over $1000 towards the cause and sent RSD to the showers.
